Photography project is about the perception of insects, and how they see the world. The work consists of three pieces:1) Experimental insects vision photo camera.2)11 raw photo-paper negatives directly from the camera.3)Digitalized positives and animation. Insects vision camera captures the image in the same way as those small creatures do. It consists of more than 3000 tiny eyes/tubes. Each tube creates one dot on the photosensitive surface. And these dots set in order give us whole ‘pixelated’image mosaic. Photographic series show dramatic image sequence from human/insect relationship viewed by a bug. Six graded photo-paper negatives capture a human hand as one of the most recognizable shapes. The project includes digitalized positives and animation created of these 11 images. Motion detection is the strong side of insect’s vision so there is also animation included.
